AuIQ Privacy Policy
Effective October 9, 2026
AuIQ ("the app") is made by Nicholas Zaragoza, an independent developer ("we"). This policy explains what the app collects, why, and what you control. The short version: AuIQ has no ads, no analytics and no tracking. It never asks for your name, phone number or location, and we do not sell or share data.
What stays on your device
Your pricing rules, the items and coins you put on a Stack, weights you enter, your settings, your PIN (stored only as a one-way scrambled form) and the problem log stay on your device. If you set up a store and iCloud Keychain is on, its codes are also kept in your iCloud Keychain, which Apple encrypts and we cannot read. We never receive any of this unless you share your store's settings (below), or send a problem report or an email.
What reaches our server, and why
Our server runs on Cloudflare and keeps only what each feature needs:
- Price alerts (if you turn them on): your device's push address from Apple, the times and metals you chose, your time zone and display currency, so we can send the alerts. Turning alerts off removes them.
- Live prices on the Lock Screen (if on): a random device number made by the app, the push addresses Apple gives for Live Activities, and the metals and currency to show.
- Store sharing (if you set up or join a store): the store's name, and the pricing settings and logo its admin shares, so staff devices get them. For each staff device: a random device number (kept scrambled), its model (for example "iPhone"), when it joined and was last seen, and a name the admin may give it. Store codes and admin codes are kept only in scrambled form. To limit how many stores one person can create, the app sends a random owner number kept in your iCloud Keychain; the server keeps only a scrambled form of it with the names of your stores.
- Subscription: to know how many staff devices a store's plan covers, and to bring a store back with Recover my store, the store's admin device sends the App Store's signed record of the subscription (product, dates and Apple's transaction number). It contains no name, email or payment details.
None of this includes your name, contact details or location. We use it only to run these features.
Payments
Subscriptions are sold and billed by Apple through the App Store. We never see your payment details. Apple's privacy policy covers what Apple collects: www.apple.com/legal/privacy/.
Price data
To show market prices, the app asks AuIQ's own server, which gets them from a licensed price provider (currently Metals-API); the provider never hears from your device. For exchange rates the app asks Frankfurter (European Central Bank rates) directly. Like any website, AuIQ's server and Frankfurter see your device's internet address when it asks for prices; our server's logs, kept for a few days to fix problems, may include it. They receive nothing else from AuIQ.
Problem reports and email
Crashes and connection problems are noted on your device. Nothing is sent unless you tap Share report and choose where to send it. Reports hold no store codes, keys or prices you entered. If you email us (Send feedback in the app, or support@auiq.app), we receive your email address and what you write, and use them only to answer you.
How long we keep it
Alert, Live Activity and store records are kept while you use those features and removed when you turn them off or leave a store. A store's records are removed when its admin deletes the store; its codes then keep only a note that the store was deleted, for 90 days. Records not used for a long time may be deleted. Subscription records are kept while the subscription is active and for a short time after, for support.
Children
AuIQ is a tool for businesses and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Your choices
You can turn off price alerts and Live Activities in AuIQ's Settings, leave a store at any time, and delete the app to remove everything stored on your device. A store's admin can delete the store in AuIQ (Settings → Store → Admin tools → Delete this store), which removes its settings, logo and staff device list from our server; this does not cancel an App Store subscription, which you manage with Apple. To ask about or delete data held by our server, email support@auiq.app.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted at this address with a new effective date.
